The growth of love into a forever future is the best time of life to capture in an image.  Nervous stutterings, laughs, late night chats, arguments to understandings, the development of a relationship to the inevitable engagement is a journey to that final big day.  The bridge of this journey is the engagement.  The beauty of this bridge is in the photos.  

I’ve always said that engagement photos are my favorite.  The couple is always so much more relaxed and the photos show it!  This day was no exception!  The love you have shows on your faces and your casual demeanor displays just how comfortable you are with one another.  I think the last photo says it all!  Your playfulness and the way you make each other laugh is a testament to the commitment you are about to make.  You are a beautiful couple with a beautiful life ahead!  I cannot wait for your big day!

The little fingers and toes, tiny lips and small nose, taking pictures of newborns never gets old.  The smile that inevitably comes with glancing at their photos has nothing to do with the talent of a photographer.  It is the beauty of a newborn that says it all.  

Miss Gretta!  Welcome to the world!  A giant blessing in a tiny package your mommy and daddy have been waiting to meet.  At times your feisty attitude reminds me of your momma and then at other times your calm, cool, relaxed demeanor mirrors your dad.  Either way, you are a perfect mix of them both with your beautiful eyes and perfect fingers and toes!  You have big things ahead for you sweety!  It may entail some sort of hunting adventure with a resulting giant mount on the wall, but we won’t hold that against you!  Welcome Gretta Rae!

Plan, prep, reserve, decide, pick, arrange, deposit.  All the things that go into a wedding pale in comparison to the marriage that will last forever.  Life's a long and sometimes difficult ride, not to have the one that you truly love and care for there beside you.  This most important person has been found.  Everything else is cake! 

I may be a bit biased about this next couple but if you don’t see love after flipping through these select few, then I think you’re crazy!  I am privileged to call these two family and happen to know that they make the most beautiful couple!  Kristin, you had more ideas for photos than I did!  As intimidating as it could’ve been with your creative history and work with photography, you both drew me in to how in love you are and relaxed you are around each other!  Justin, it was one heck of a first meeting!  With all of the awkward poses and the un-manly agenda, you hung in there, and looked darn good doing it!  We are so blessed to have you joining our family and I am so happy for you both!  Let’s go June!  Get here fast!

It's amazing how much children take after their parents.  Not only in looks but in personalities.  They are miniature versions of the beautiful people that created them.  And they do not disappoint in character or shining face.  

There are certain personalities that you can pick out early and she’s got one!  With each click of the shutter this girl had a smile on her face and a light in her eye!  Feisty, vocal and full of fun are some of my predictions for this little beauty!  Your momma is so proud of you and rightfully so!  She did a great job!  I don’t doubt that there is tons of fun to come with you!  Thank you for brightening my day!

 That notorious "L" word often gets thrown about with a sort of flippancy.  I 'love' my truck.  I 'love' The Price Is Right.  I 'love' Starbucks.  Yet, there's one way catch love in its purest forms.  The look.  The look in a mother's eyes when she first sees her baby.  Daddy's eyes as he walks his girl down the aisle.  The eyes of a bride and groom on their wedding day. 

 

With snow falling, slippery roads and the wind howling I stepped into the bridal suite at your Camp Lakota Cabin.  With dresses draped over chairs, makeup and curlers strewn about and a room full of giddy girls I found the most beautiful bride, beaming from ear to ear!  You could have been frustrated with the weather, crying over those who may or may not make it, or a nervous wreck as some brides are.  But you calmly sat, smiling, watching your bridesmaids get their hair pinned and prepped for the wonderful event that was going to take place, snow storm or no snow storm.   And a few hours later, as you walked hand in hand down the aisle, both beaming, I saw a shining example of what weddings are about.  Thank you for a beautiful reminder and a truly beautiful day!  Congratulations!
